Two really special things happened this stormy, rainy week in Wellington.

The first was the boys getting their first pair of gumboots. It was a momentous and exciting occassion, all the way to the "Warehouse" the boys kept up a chorus of "new gumboots" from the back seat and then after trying on a million pairs the decision for both was "piderman, piderman" they don't actually know who Spiderman is, but they were very determined that's what they wanted (I did wonder if they'd had a sneaky chat to their cousin Elise on what to choose!). The rain hasn't let up for most of the week so we had a lot of puddle splashing and running through mud, all good fun.

The second exciting thing was that my Uncle Karl and Aunty Val were in Wellington for the weekend from Invercargill and we had great fun catching up together and the boys loved having all the extra attention. Karl helped Adrian put up the swing set and slide, much to the delight of the boys and Val spent most of the weekend helping me with my mountains of washing, much to the delight of me (it's fun holidaying with the Sealy-O'Donnells!).

We've finally got the last of the house things unpacked, Adrian even managed an hour tiyding up his garage today (he was in his element - he says he was in his garage!). We've also finally got with the 21st century and are on broadband so will be working out how to do the webcam thing as soon as we can.

Have a great week all :0) Pictures of the house below:

Well we're in!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally all settled in and (nearly) unpacked.

Moving day was a momentous task but the movers did most of the heavy lifting while we pointed fingers and cleaned. Aunty Sue and I took the boys to 'Lollipops" in the morning, it's a big indoor playground which is brilliant. Sue and I spent the morning following the boys through tunnels and down huge slides and making giant lego towers - it was great. The boys went to creche in the afternoon while we did the moving and then we picked them up and home to the "new house". The boys ran around the house and through the garden all excited then it was fish and chips on the floor with Uncle Jeremy while we tried to make up the cots and find the kettle before we all fell into bed. (Picture top is the boys drawing chalk pictures on the paving in the back garden of the new house).

Adrian and I then spent the weekend unpacking, moving kitchen cupboards and putting up shelves and generally getting our lives in order but we're feeling a lot more settled now. We are all loving the house, Adrian loves his garage and can't wait to have some time to sort all his boy stuff into shelves and spend some quality "pottering time" out there. The boys love the garden and all the space to run around being aeroplanes and kick their balls. I love the drive on access - no panic trips up to the road with little ones running in every direction and being able to walk to the shops and the park with the boys with no hills!

More pickies next week of the house once we find the cables to connect the camera to the computer. Have a great week X

PS - Jude, I'll print the recipe for you next week once I find it :)

4 days to go!!!!

It's been a busy week at work for both myself and Adrian as we're trying to finish things ready to take some time off and move house next week. Adrian has been especially busy this week lighting a special corporate production of WOW (World of Wearable Art) show which was a real coup for him. He found out that the New York "Getty Family" were the corporates that the show was promoting and they flew in and out of Wellington by helicopter to see his show.

While Adrian was busy with his show I had a lovely weekend with the boys shopping and playing. We went to pick up Adrian on Saturday afternoon after his show finished and spent a lovely few hours watching the helicopters landing and taking off on the waterfront and watching the Dragon Boat Races in the harbour. The boys loved the 3, 2, 1, Go on the loudspeaker and shouted "Go, Go, Go" at the top of their voices and the boats took off, it was a good few hours of free entertainment.

We had a lovely Sunday morning at the swimming pool with the boys who are now like little ducks in the water, the love going "wimming" and wanted to stay in until they were nearly blue. We then went home for a nap and Adrian and Chris moved some bits out of the basement into the new garage to get them out of the way for the big move. We had some neighbours around for dinner (the best kind- they brought dinner!) and now is count down till Thursday......next blog from the new house!

Another week goes by and it's getting closer to our moving date. We're really excited about moving and really non-motivated about packing. We actually started packing last night and realised the momentous task we have ahead of us as we don't want to take evey peice of old bank statement and odd sock but it's a big job!..........

We've spent a lot of time visiting friends this week and the boys seem to enjoy playing with other children's toys for a change. Adrian managed to take the boys to the park at last yesterday after our big storm on the weekend meant we were pretty housebound for a day or two.

The boys have been absolutely brilliant this week, they are getting very clever with all their colours and are pretty spot on with all the main ones including purple and orange. They have also started singing which is gorgeous and will sit singing "la, la, la, la, la" to themselves, much more in tune than I ever do so luckily they haven't inherited their parents singing ability! They like to do everything together at the moment and if one is ready for something they will shoud "TOM DINNER" or "JACK BATH" etc. This also means that when one of them is doing something as delightful as throwing his food on the floor or feeding the cat their morning tea the other has to join in! It does have it's good points though as getting a double cuddle is pretty special.

Have a great week everyone :)
