Now we're all back on board it's been a nice week having everyone around the breakfast table again in the mornings. Adrian was straight back into a busy work week with a lot of extra hours this week and he was still falling asleep at 7:30pm trying to get his head back in the right time zone.

We had a very busy weekend with Adrian working all day Saturday while it was torrential rain outside all day with more flooding and land slips around Wellington so the boys and I headed to "Jungleramma" the big indoor playground with their friend Aeneas who was also driving his mother crazy inside in the rain. The boys had a great time and I was very pleased that they have now both mastered the ladder to get up to the giant slide by themselves which is a big relief from me having to carry them up again and again!!!! We had a nice visit from Jeremy in the afternoon and then Adrian arrived home in time for the banana cake that Jack and I had made while Tom was having an extra long nap.

Sunday morning wasn't raining but was very cold and grey so Adrian rugged the boys up and took them to the Zoo, they had a great morning as all the animals were out and close up including getting to see the giraffes being feed. The favourite seems to be the zebras but they have great imaginations telling me they saw elephants and hippos too even though there aren't any there...?! Jack asked Daddy if he could cuddle the monkey's as soon as he saw them, and the baboons were also a big hit although confusing as they were screaming, growling and nashing their teeth, Tom told them very seriously, “No monkey’s say oohh oohh, hee hee not growling”!

FUN WITH UNDERPANTS!!

This week the boys tried on some underpants to attempt to get used to them a little early, Jack loved his and ran around dancing like a nutter, Tom decided that it would be much more fun to try them all on...at once....he struggled to get every pair on and felt very pleased with himself!

Well you regulars will be wondering what's happened to us all but it's been a couple of weeks of comings and goings in the So'd household so get a cuppa for this one...

Adrian jetted off to England for 12 days when we heard that Grandad had been very ill and was in hospital, he's now tucked safely with the family but Adrian and I were really worried about him and it was lovely for Adrian to see him and have a chance to talk to him in person. Adrian had a hideous trip with hours of waiting in airports but once he arrived he did manage to visit a few of his old haunts and have a drink with a few of them too! Meanwhile back in the So'd household I had a busy time keeping the boys entertained in the bad weather and getting through the long weekends without daddy but thanks to wonderful friends and family helping with entertainment duty we managed. The boys really missed daddy and told everyone that he had gone on a plane to grandma's but somehow got that confused with him going to work so after the first few days they started to get sad about him not being home for dinner but they did manage brilliantly considering. It was also my birthday while Adrian was away so after a pretty quite morning the boys and I had a lovely birthday dinner with John, Linda and Ben who made a wonderful effort with balloons party hats and cake - it was lovely. Adrian had a very sad farewell to his family especially Grandad and winged his way back across the globe.....

Once he arrived home at 1:00am on Thursday morning we had a lovely morning together before I got on a plane to head to Christchurch to stay with Aunty Liz and Uncle Austin for 2 days of luxurious sleeping in till 9:00am !!!! Drinking wine and shopping, it was brilliant and I had a lovely relaxing time. I was really exicted to see the boys on Saturday afternoon and to see them running through the airport shouting "mummy" was something I'll treasure always.

We had a great weekend with the boys now we are all back on deck and with visits from Ben and his mummy, visits to the swimming pool and walks in the sunshine it was nice to be together again. More to come on hilarious childrens antics next week but I think that's enough to keep you all going this week!

Thanks to all our wonderful friends and family that helped us out at both ends of the world over the last few weeks, take care grandad we're thinking of you X

Busy weekend for the SOD’s, Saturday morning Adrian took the boys out for a few hours in the morning while I finished painting the kitchen which was a great job to get done and then it was onto a birthday party for the boy’s friend Elise who also just turned 2 so that was lots of fun, especially not having to do the clearing up and just walking away…lovely. The boys decided they couldn’t possibly have a nap with so much sugar to burn off so we spent the afternoon doing bits around the house and then visited Jeremy and Anna for afternoon tea.

Sunday morning the boys cruelly woke us up at 5:00am (not pleasant for mummy and daddy) so we all walked around the corner to the pool and went swimming (not much open at 6:00am on a Sunday…!). It was great fun and as usual the boys wouldn’t get out until they were blue lipped. Adrian then took the boys for a walk in the rain before coming back for hot soup and scones. Uncle Chris and Aunty Sue came for a visit and then we all had a lovely big sleep. We then spent the afternoon with me playing by the fire with the boys while Adrian demolished the wardrobe in the boys room which had needed to be done for some time. Jack then asked "where is the white box with the teddy's gone daddy?", he showed them all the pieces outside and Jack turned to me and said "Mummy look daddy broke it". Adrian then spent all night putting the new lighting in the kitchen which has made a huge difference.

Have a great week folks :)
