Two weeks worth sorry folks it's been a busy old week or two!

Last weekend was spent tidying up around the house and trying to finish the bathroom tiling. We now have a new bath after we discovered a large crack in the other one which meant getting our builder to come back in to refit a new one and rip out some of our lovely tiling! The boys were helping daddy in the garden and we had to spend Sunday finding indoor entertainment as yet another raging storm hit Wellington - come on summer!

This week was a really busy one for Adrian working on the Old Boys International Rubgy Tournament that was being held in Wellington which meant working around the clock for him until Sunday when he was pretty exhuasted. We managed a visit with the boys to see the big stage for the after match function and the boys loved seeing daddy's "Show" and being on stage "just like the Wiggles!"

We also had a call from the Wellington Council this week to say the boys commemorative trees had died in the storms so they had to replant them which actually turned out great as the boys are now old enough to really understand that they belong to them and were able to dig and plant themselves with the spades that the wonderful council planters provided, we had great fun with the boys telling me that they are going to grow really big, "even bigger than daddy!". This time we picked Totara trees which will be huge and hopefully much tougher.

Cute stories for this week..... Jack and Tom dropped me at work last week and Adrian said to Tom that he forgot to say goodbye to mummy, he got really upset and was crying and Jack turned to him and said "Tom, mummy's gone to work to do some jobs, she'll come and get us after lunch, ok?", Tom stopped crying and said "oh ok" - I don't know that they need us anymore!
Jack is certainly his father's son, when I asked him if he had nice dreams earlier this week he said "yes, I dreamed about macaroni cheese!"

Promise a proper blog next week but have a great week in the meantime :)

"We're big boys mummy we don't need a nap", ok let's go shopping......and sit in the car-park for 1/2 an hour while I wait for you to wake up!!! I think most boys find shopping about as exciting as this...

Good week this week followed by a long weekend of rain, rain and more rain which is typical. Poor Adrian had to set up an outdoor show all day Saturday in the rain only to take it all down again on Sunday in the rain when it was canceled so while he was braving the elements outside I was braving the two elements at our place trapped inside - I think Adrian had the easy job myself!

Monday was still horrible but we all went off the Jungleramma to release some energy and took Ben and his mummy too. Adrian then took the boys to Fidels for the afternoon so mummy could have a nice break.

Jack has been really focused on lego at the moment and will play for hours quite happily building things, Tom on the other hand still likes to knock it over...

More on the bathroom next week - bit of a saga, let's just say crack in the bath, waiting for visit from manufacturer, two unhappy people who have nearly finished tiling.... keep watching for more next week...

Tired now.......

We had a bit of a huge week and weekend with house renovations and entertaining children this week.

The building work was finished in a record 2.5 days instead of 5 so we love our builder to peices! We will have photos once we have finished the tiling so you'll just have to wait. Friday afternoon felt likespring so the boys and I headed off to the beach but Saturday morning was raining and the floorsanders arrived so the boys and got out of the way and went to their friend Ben's house to play (Ben's mum Linda has decided from this photo that should have had triplets - I don't think so!). Adrian spent the morning getting things finished off and organising the sanders and then later that morning we all met up and headed off to the local Fair - the boys were so excited that and jumped around shouting "we're going to the fairy, we're going to the fairy". It was really busy but we managed to bag a few bargains from the second hand stalls and the big highlight was the fire engine, ambulance and police car that the boys could get inside and pretend to drive, (I don't want to see the pair of them in the back of an ambulance again though!).

Our lovely neighbours gave us a toy buzz lightyear which the boys loved so we rented the movie in the afternoon and we all watched it (minus the scary bits!) all holed up in one room while the floor was drying so the boys spent all evening jumping off the couch shouting "to infinity and beyond"

Saturday night I couldn't help myself and used some new stick on tiles and redid the kitchen and laundry floor, it makes a massive difference and now we have lovely floors everywhere! Sunday was another miserable day so we spent most of it inside and a bit of shopping but we were pretty exhausted by the end of the weekend. Adrian is getting everything waterproofed and ready for tiling so more pickies when it's finished.

Cute stories this week, Jack always wakes up really hungry and when he's a little early I tell him to wait until it's the right time on my watch. We asked him what time it was one morning this week and he looked at his wrist and said "it's 25, 6 weet-bix time". The are both really keeping us laughing at the moment with their games and when you ask them what they are doing they say "playing silly games" or "muck'n around wiv my brother".

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BLOG.....yes for those of you clever clogs you'll know it's a year since we started our blog and it feels like 5 minutes ago, bit of a difference in the size of the boys too! Looking at that first blog with the boys just learning to talk and now we can't shut them up!!

What a week, it's been crazy around here. We found out on Friday night that our builder can start working on the bathroom Monday so it meant a mad dash to get ready. Saturday was spent shopping for toilets, taps and baths and Saturday night we had Jeremy, Anna and Libby for dinner for Anna's birthday and the boys had a real treat with cousin Libby reading their bedtime stories which they found much more exciting than when we do it! Sunday morning Adrian had his coffee with the boys and then came home to work flat out ripping out the old bathroom ready for Monday while I took the boys to the park before coming home to see Adrian's handwork, the boys love watching daddy doing building and with the new tool belts that daddy bought them thought they were the business! Pics of the new bathroom next week.

In the afternoon Adrian carried on while I took the boys for a picnic at the gardens in the hot sunshine which was lovely, we feed the ducks and then had a nice afternoon tea and a run around they found lots of children to talk to with Thomas telling everyone "hi I'm Tom", they also managed to chat up their first girls together - see pic

Cute story for this week, we asked the boys what daddy did at work and they replied "fixing lights", what does mummy do we asked "playing and mucking around" they said...if only!

Thomas is becoming more and more like Great-grandad Frank everyday and keeps us in hysterics. I made them their first apple crumble this week in little ramakins which they helped me make, Tom was so excited telling Daddy, Unlce Chris, random strangers on the street that we were having "apple crumble tonight!!!" Just like Frank, Tom couldn't get enough of it and keep telling me it was "really nice mummy", he was so full it was almost coming out his ears but he kept trying to fit more in until he finally had to gave up.

Adrian and I both had an exhausting work week this week so were really looking forward to a quiet weekend but when does that happen with toddlers!

Adrian took the boys for their Saturday morning coffee at Fidels before we headed off to their friend Ben's second birthday party where the house was overun with two year olds and tired looking parents took their sugar loaded children home for naps. In the afternoon it was raining and miserable but we had been given a late birthday present for the boys the day before of some playdoh that comes with animal parts which was a great distraction for the boys and Adrian (I think more Adrian actually).

Sunday morning the boys and I made a banana cake ready for a visit from Uncle Chris and Aunty Sue in the afternoon. We spent the morning in town, doing a few bits and peices and the boys had a visit to daddy's work with their bikes (pic top). Adrian then attempted to finish nailing in the last of the floor boards with two little helpers handing him one nail and throwing two down the hole. We had hatched a plan with Chris and Sue who had gone to the Home and Garden show in the morning and then they came to watch the boys so we could go in the afternoon (hence cake...). Adrian and I felt really odd being out in the middle of the day with no children but had a good time at the show before coming home to find the boys, Chris and Sue tucking into cake and having a great time. They told me that night that they "love Uncle Chris and Aunty Sue". The weather was miserable again so we didn't do much in the afternoon so it was a reasonably relaxing weekend.

The boys are having great fun playing together really well at the moment and I can hear them being Adrian and I often in their games, "have you got your phone and wallet?" they ask or "I've got my lunch, now where's my keys" a classic this week was Jack pretending to put Tom into bed and reading him a story then saying "now snuggle in Tom".

They are love singing at the moment too and will be halfway through a song and say "mummy what's the last bit again". Tom sang me a lovely song the other day about a naughty monkey in the trees and when I told him it was a nice song he said "no mummy it's a great song". I'm not sure about their musical taste though, Jack was sitting in the backseat this week and Led Zeplin was playing on the radio, he asked "what's that music mummy", "Led Zeplin" I replied. "I like Led Zeplin Mummy" (I had to ring uncle Chris and tell him that!)....I can see the mullet and black t-shirt ....
