Ok so we've got our swimming togs on, we've got our towels and goggles and we are SO excited about swimming class that we practically run all the way there from our house.......we arrive and the pool has been closed because of too much chlorine in the water. ......I freeze, they look longingly inside at the water and I have to tell them we can't go today, tears appear in little boys eyes....think fast mother what can we do that will help this situation........

only one thing I can think of...........

The boys had their first swimming lesson this week and they loved it. It was a bright sunny day so we walked around the corner to the swimming pool with great excitment. We are really lucky as they are the only ones in the class so they had their "private" lesson with their teacher Rachael who was lovely and incredibly patient with two over excited 3 year olds.

Adrian has been working all hours of the week this week so it was a nice to get the weekend together. Saturday Adrian took the boys to Te Papa to see a pipe band which they loved, they acted out all the instruments that afternoon (favourites were bag-pipes and a bass drum......yes very loud!!). I did some shopping and then we all came home for Saturday movie night. This weeks movie was the original "snow white and the seven dwarf's" ********/10 we all really enjoyed it but it did prompt some serious discussions about not taking food from strangers and the boys really wanted to know what happened to the witch (she actually gets chased by the dwarfs off a cliff and get squashed by a boulder but as they didn't really understand that I didn't want to go into too much detail!).

Sunday morning we headed to a Pirate Birthday Party and the boys got dressed up and had a brilliant time, the hosts had 8 rowdy boys for the morning so don't envy their cleaning up that afternoon!

The good thing about being a twin is there's always someone to kick the ball back!!

Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me.......

It's been a great week now everyone's back to good health again and the weather has started to be a bit more springish. The boys and I managed to get out and about again this week to the park on a lovely day last week and it was so exciting because it was the first time the boys worked the see-saw by themselves, it's one of those real twin bonuses that you have someone perfectly balanced at the other end! We had our picnic afternoon tea inside the tunnel just for laughs and so mummy could get cramp!

Adrian has been flat out this week working on the Royal Shakespeare's "King Lear". He's been Head LX on this one so has really busy being big boss and trying to fit it all in but all going well now and it's a short run thank goodness!

I also had my birthday night out on Friday night which was great, this pic is me and Louise (so Kaz and Paul can see that we really are mates!!). Saturday was a quiet day in with big storms in Wellington but we snuggled in for our movie night which was the old favourite "Bednobs and Broomsticks" which the boys loved especially the football part ********/10. Adrian and I also watched "300" which we both really loved but men be warned it will make you will feel fat and flabby!! Sunday we took the boys to Te Papa to see the NZ Ballet's doing a little performance session on "a day in the life of a ballerina" before heading off to the Library for the afternoon.

I had a lovely birthday on Tuesday with the boys so excited to give me their present (a watch) and make me my breakfast in bed. Jack made me this picture of "a dream pony" and Tom gave me the best present by writing his name! I think this is amazing for a 3 year old but then I'm biased!

Sick, sick and sicker !!!
It's been a week of sickness in the Sealy-O'Donnell family this week. Last weekend we knew something was up when we went to the boy's girlfriend Elise's 3rd birthday party and they didn't eat any cake (that's a huge sign!!). They did love the man who made the best balloon animals ever though - he made a huge octapus for Jack and Jester's hat for Tom. By Sunday night they had come down with the flu properly which progressed into ear infections and bad chests by the end of the week when Daddy came down with it so it's been a very quiet week and weekend for all except mummy running around making soup and wiping noses.
The boys have really missed getting out and about this week and today was the first day when they could get outside for a small run around but it's mainly been books, TV, and cuddles. They were well enough today to make this picture with the foam stickers from Aunty Liz together though:

Our Saturday night movie last week was "Return to Neverland" ******/10 (we couldn't get Peter Pan) and this week was "The Lady and the Tramp" *******/10. It was lovely and the boys have been pretending to be puppies all day after that one.
Not mcuh else to report this week but hopefully it'll get more germ-free and exciting this week :)
