Adrian's birthday last month and we had a lovely night out. We headed over to Chris and Sue's to have some cake with the boys before we left them there for a very exciting first night staying the whole night with Uncle Chris and Aunty Sue I'm not sure who was more excited the boys or Chris! Adrian and I headed out for the night and stayed in a hotel in town as I'd won a voucher for the night (I'm a bit lucky at the moment!!). It was a gorgeous hotel and we had a lovely night out on the town finishing off with a curry that was so hot neither of us could eat it - even Adrian Teflon mouth himself. We picked up the boys the next morning and they'd had a brilliant time so I’m sure it won’t be the last time they stay there!
It was also Queen’s Birthday weekend here (why we celebrate this on the other side of the world is crazy but we get a day off in the middle of the year so heh I can’t complain!). It was a real wintery weekend with rain and freezing cold so for most of it so we did a lot of inside things and headed to Te Papa for a run around. We also did our last trip to Staglands for the year which was lovely. The peacocks were particularly friendly sharing our lunch….
Last weekend I headed to sunny Nelson with girlfriends to visit a friend who has just had a baby while the boys had a brilliant weekend going to the zoo, watching movies and riding their bikes at the park. The boys are both doing brilliantly at riding their bikes and are now too fast for us so we'll have to invest in some of our own to keep up with them.It was also Queen’s Birthday weekend here (why we celebrate this on the other side of the world is crazy but we get a day off in the middle of the year so heh I can’t complain!). Cute stories for the week…….
The boys are really into super heroes of any kind at the moment and singing their theme tunes, Tom was busy this week singing “Flash, ahhhhhh saviour of the university”.
We are talking this week about trying to understand people who talk with different accents. Later, Jack said to Tom “you can’t understand me cos I’ve got a different accident”

Lastly, I managed to cut my hand when I was using the tape measure when it flicked into me. Jack helped me put my plaster on as it was bleeding everywhere and and was being very kind and then said "maybe daddy should do the measuring next time"...... gggrrr
