It's been a week of wintry storms one minute and beautiful sunny winter days the next so the whole family has been coughing and spluttering with winter colds and constantly wiping little boys noses (that includes Adrian's) and keeping warm by the fire.
Adrian has had a really busy week working on the Opera "the Magic Flute" which he's been loving as it's "proper theatre". I had a big AGM at work this week which meant I had to go to work one evening and the next day when I said to the boys that we would pick up Dadday from work Tom asked me if "mummy going to work?", I told him I wasn't and he said very seriously to Jack "Sometimes mummy goes to work, Daddy goes to work and comes home for dinner". The boys have settled well into their big boy beds now and we are loving getting woken up with big cuddles in the morning instead of getting out of bed to get boys out of their cots. We had a quiet week with a visit to the boys friend Aneas on Thursday which the boys loved. They were all copying each other which was very cute and doing big pretend laughs but I don't know what was so funny.
Saturday morning Adrian took the boys for his weekend outing leaving mummy happily reading the paper in a cafe and shopping. We met up at the indoor playground after the rain started and ran into the boys friend Ben (it's getting weird and I'm sure they plan it somehow!). That afternoon was cold and horrible but to combat the boredom we braved the weather and headed to Macara beach rugged up with so many clothes on the boys looked like little mushrooms. After a little walk and a splash in the waves with our gumboots on we had a picnic in the back of the car to keep out of the wind complete with a flask of hot tea for mummy and daddy. The boys loved it, especially when a friendly dog decided to join us. As a special treat we had fish and chips on the way home cos it's just goes so well with a cold day at the beach.
Sunday morning was spent doing bits around the house and had visitors in the afternoon and a big roast dinner yum.
