Those summer knights...........
We all went to the International Jousting Festival last week which was brilliant, the boys especially liked getting daddy in the stocks and throwing wetsponges at him!
We've been having lots of lovely long hot summer days and visits from both Aunty Liz and then my brother Michael and his girlfriend Simone who is cooking a new cousin for the boys due in September so we're all very excited!
Family bowling trip and boys visit to the war bunkers at the top of Karori on Waitangi Day.
Visit from Michael which also involved all the grown up boys going camping for a night in Kaitoke forest.
We also had a real treat when the Wellington harbour gave residents free rides on the tug boats. It was a huge wait but really, really worth it - gotta love tugs they're awesome! The Queen Elizabeth was in town at the time so we got a really good look up close.
Tom's first toffee apple................. he loved it!
Cute stories for the week:
We were talking about people coming from different countries recently and Jack was telling us all the places that children came from in his class, he said one of the children came from a place next to chicken..........after much working out we realised he meant Turkey. I nearly wet myself!
Sometimes we wonder where Tom comes from - after the tug boat ride we asked the boys if they enjoyed it. Jack said it was worth the wait and really good. Tom was very thoughtful and then replied, "yes, it was a very good opportunity"........ who are you!
We also sadly had to say goodbye to our cat Monty this week when he had to be put down. After saying goodbye at the vet we brought him home and had a funderal in the back garden for him. The boys arranged the funeral and after very solemnly being told to be seated they had a lovely service starting with Jack's speach "today, we will share memories of Monty" followed by Tom's "Monty was a good cat and he will be missed" before I had to tell stories of Monty as a kitten and then a little song. They were so serious and solemn but difficult for me to keep a straight face.
